i'm afraid to ask but.... any news on that kit?
the last word i had is that it will be publically available after the bk1k hits the states. then akai has to check the availability but like the os, the blk will eventually be made available for purchase.

but i'm trying to see if i can get mine early.

Good.
Guess we gonna have to stick with the purple buttons and white faders and wheels?
Have you thought about keeping the red sides? As a symbol of al the blood (sweat and tears) that has been flowing in this thread :D

I actually like the old blue and red colour scheme much more than the black and grey one. Goes with my Ion, and just looks nicer.

sparq: with the start/end adjustment with the Q-Links, does each slider's range correspond with the entire sample? ie if the Q-Link 2 slider is right to the top, does that make the end point go right to the beginning?

Also how does the fine adjustment you mentioned work? i was just thinking that maybe if you adjusted the end in a little way, and then wanted to adjust it out with the shift key pressed, wouldn't the slider hit the end of its slot before the sample?

1. If you want to buy an MPC 1000-bk, I know a reliable Japanese source to get them from.

2. If you have questions about functions of the MPC 1000, Sparq has been more than happy to answer them...but you can also visit the MPC 2500 forum. The MPC 2500 has all the features of the MPC 1000 forth coming OS.

3. Stop

I got a question for Sparq....Since the MPC 1000 and 2500 share the same code..does the new OS for the 1000 have the same 'bugs'? I hope you can/allowed to (different from will) answer this question honestly.

Maybe the hold up with the new OS is due to 'bugs'. I hope you guys don't expect the new OS to be perfect...especially since this is not an update to fix previously reported problems...this update is a major improvement.

if the delay is down to bugs, then i would expect it to be perfect, well, near perfect anyway!

This would imply that the best possible people are selected to beta test the OS..which hasn't been the case..at least since 1997. From what I hear..most of the beta testers are Akai Employees and that they don't normally let individuals outside the company take part in testing..which suks..because I have found numerous 'bugs' over the years with new MPCs and have always reported them promptly...like I continue to do for the 2500. So I am an unpaid..un-offical..beta tester  The paid..official..beta testers have been unable to catch these things for what ever reason. So..don't count on it being perfect

The more common term for this is "early adopter"

Saying this means that people are being paid to do a job and not doing the job properly, which in turn implies their jobs should be taken away from them!

sometimes i think Akai's idea of beta testing is throwing their new mpcs into a cage with a group of monkeys. still at least this has meant they last well!

Jahrome, I'll answer your question when I get home. I'll also go over to the 2.5 section and try to duicate some of the bugs.

As far as the sliders in trim mode, I'll let you guys know when I get home. I am on the bus typing this from my blackerry. lol

hate to fight another man's fight dude, but it's "you're" not "your". "you're" is an abbreviation of "you are" which is, i believe, what you meant.

ps, i AM white, before you go pulling some racist bs on me. if i'd said what you said the other way round i'm sure there would have been thousands of people hacking the sh!t out of my face with machetes, and even worse, i'd have probably been banned from the board, and, rightly so, too.

so, in conclusion: please, there is no room for racism in this day and age.

that is all.

edit: ok, i've seen you've edited it.
