First tune done on the mpc2500 :)

Hi, just thought I would put my tune up here for people to have a listen to.
Its the first tune I have done on the mpc2500, I used the xv5050 and the novation ks rack runnin into a mackie mixer then recorded straight into the pc through an audiophile 192.

All the mixing was done on the fly riding the faders and what not.
Just until I can sync the mpc with cool edit

I gotta say, the mpc realy helps to get beats out of your head and into your fingers

I used to do everything in software but decided to go entirely hardware as I just wasnt feelin it anymore

Luckily, as soon as I got the mpc things started happening again

The mpc2500 is one serious piece of kit, cant recommend it enough.

Cant wait for an os update though, I need Midi C/D to work properly

The xv5050 is cool for bread and butter sounds but editing can be a pain.
I like to just spend a day or two making some patches with the pc editor then work with them till I need fresh sounds

Plenty of waves to choose from when your creating a patch from scratch.

Also, each patch can have like 4 seperate waves so its in effect like having 16 4 osc synths in one box

Modulation is cool aswell, only thing, like I said is editing can be a pain.

No good for assigning parameters to a midi controller as most of the deep stuff is sysex, which is a bit of an arse to work with.

For example, to assign the lfo rate to a slider you had some crazy long line of digits.

You can get some nice pads out of the xv aswell

Yeah, the bass is from the ks rack, I think the eq on the mackie desk helps a little aswell

The ks rack is realy realy good for making patches quickly.
Plus you have four parts which you can assign to any of the four outputs.
I think's it's quite overlooked actually, probably because of the v-station but I enjoy working with it

I have only just got the mpc, I got it for 799gbp, which was a complete bargain.
It was advertised for 999gbp but when I went down they gave it me for 799!!! Bargain
