I know this Larry Page track but don't recognise it as a sample.

Doing a search I found that "My Way" by Nas uses a Larry Page sample from the same album as this, but from the small audio clip I heard it doesn't sound like this one.

What type of music is the track you are thinking of that samples this? It is actually fairly uptempo so I can imagine more of a jazzy, deep house track than hip hop.

i was thinkg the same thing, it had to been sampled on a faster type beat,
ilke that intro too, but i would do something housey with it too. maybe a faster downtempo beat like 115 bpm
