I was told OS is coming soon, so chill

Now some may wonder and I wouldn't put it pass my man sparq's being a Tech rep himself. which is kinda of funny to me,why? because you get to test and see how many fools in this forum can act a fool. lol

Again I was told in a subbleminal way. that soon as the blk 1k arrive in the state's Akai would release 2.0 on the site. so b patience!

Im gettin a 1000 in about a week, and i know the os upgrade will come out. But reading thru here it seems most people think that only with the os you could make bangers. Im just waitin to play with my mpc.

You can definitely make some bangers with the 1000, no doubt. The new OS will allow you to take it to the next level and rely less upon using a computer to do all the workarounds. Certain features of the new OS will definitely make the workflow alot smoother as well as adding functions that can't be done on a computer. I write techno, so some of these new features I'm really looking forward to, as they certainly will improve what I'm currently working on. It's been one hell of a wait, but it'll be worth it. :)

Now as far as what's going on with people taking their frustrations out on Sparq... I feel somewhat responsible, since I've lost my patience recently and came down on him when I shouldn't have. I've privately apologized to Sparq already on Christmas Eve, but I feel that I should make that apology known publicly, since I've grilled him publicly. Sparq has accepted my apology, but I feel that I should mention again that I'm sorry if my actions have caused others to come down on him. I'd really like to see others here that have flamed Sparq atleast acknowledge this, since I can't make anyone apologize for themselves. Sparq has gone above and beyond to help out as many people as he can, and still keep his cool when he's been needlessly put on blast. Just keep in mind that when Akai flips the script with all these changes and delays, it's not Sparq's fault at all. He doesn't make decisions for Akai. All he can do is offer suggestions and inquire about what's going on through his contacts. He's doing the best that he can. Believe that!

uhh..ok...fellas...

Now Sparq...I am pretty sure that you have been keeping tabs on the issues with the 2500...there are several reproducable bugs all detailed in the 2500 forum. If you can tell us if any of them are reproducable on the MPC 1000 V2?

If you can't comment..than its cool but be forth coming if you can comment because the OS will be here one day soon for many to try :D

Mr modnaR wrote:sparq: with the start/end adjustment with the Q-Links, does each slider's range correspond with the entire sample? ie if the Q-Link 2 slider is right to the top, does that make the end point go right to the beginning?
ok if i understand you correctly, here is the answer to this. Q1 controls the start point of the sample and Q2 controls the endpoint. the Q1 slider is down, the start point is at the beginning of the sample and when Q2 is slider is up, the end point is at the end of the sample. if the Q1 slider is up when you go into trim mode and you move it, the start point jumps to where it should be according to the location of the slider at the time you move it. same goes for Q2 and the endpoint.

Mr mondnaR wrote:Also how does the fine adjustment you mentioned work? i was just thinking that maybe if you adjusted the end in a little way, and then wanted to adjust it out with the shift key pressed, wouldn't the slider hit the end of its slot before the sample?
i was wrong with stating that you can get finer adjustments using the q-link slider and the shift key. in order to do that you would have to use the method we are all accustomed to doing and that is using the shift + left/right arrow then data wheel. i apologize for my statement in the video regarding the fine adjustment method.

i'm getting to that now. i am in the 2.5 section. i just had to come back here to answer the question above.

By sparq Thu Dec 29, 2005 5:54 am
Jahrome, can you do me a favor and pin point in this topic some of the reproduceable bugs the 2.5k is having? i'm looking through and besides that timestretch bug, i can't find a thread where the problem wasn't resolved.

By sparq Thu Dec 29, 2005 6:21 am
ok jahrome, here's what i tried. when i first read the post in the 2.5k section regarding the timestretch bug, i tried to duplicate the bug to no avail, i can overwrite a timestreched sample with no problem. that's why i said what i did there, but now after you asked me to look for more bugs, i came across this in the timestrech feature. (i can not reproduce it everytime but this is what i did:

-i'm working with an accurate 2 bar sample
-i have my original tempo set to 100 and the new tempo set at 105. (the actual tempo of my sample is not 100bpm but it's said that you can timestretch samples by percentage by setting the original tempo to 100 and the new tempo to 105 if you want to speed it up 5% or to 95 to slow the sample by 5%) i've done this before numerous times but now when i do it, it first said "insufficient memory" when i know that is physically impossible and then right after that, i got that screen with the garbled row at the top. so i turned off the mpc and turned it back on. followed the same steps as above and it worked without a hitch. i repeated it about 5 times in a row, no problem. then i went the other direction, setting my new tempo at 95 and as soon as i hit do it, i got that same screen. so after i turned it back on i followed the same steps with 95 as my new tempo and nothing wrong happened. it worked like it's supposed to.

so is this a bug on the 1k, yes.

the other thing that i'm finding that's becomming a problem is the detect tempo in the timestretch screen. about 98% of the time it works without a flaw but the other two times it's reading the sample a lot faster than i know it to be. for example, i brought in a sample that i knew the tempo was 94bpm and when i ran it through detect tempo, it came back with a tempo of 144bpm. are you experiencing this jahrome? i already told akai about the latter back in october, so hopefully that part of this is corrected.

bummer man. i thought you would stick by your word. i remember you saying somewhere along the line suntin about "and if akai never releases it, you know i will share" (not an exact quote but along those lines) i hope we get this **** soon. i consider myself to be a patient person but this is really getting to be **** ridiculous. peace. merry christmas.
find where i said that. i can recall from the day that i first showed it, that i couldn't give it out.

whatever man. i don't care weather or not you live up to your word. it's not my dignity on the line. i remember what was said and if you don't, i'm not sure how much faith i'd have in your word anyway. i'm not going to browse hundreds of posts to prove my point. plus you a mod and i assume you could easily remove what you didn't want on display. keep it real.
