Note off (one note, sample, botton canceling another

I know I'm probably gonna get blasted for this old question but I'm about to cop a MPC2000XL-MCD and I wanted to know if the XL has the note off feature. If I play one pad can I assign the pads to where if I tap one pad it will cut another one off. Can someone answer the question or send me a link to it in the forum. I've tried searching for the topic but can't find it.
