MPC1000 & Pro Tools

I'm new to pro tools and I'm having trouble with creating the perfect marriage with the software and my MPC. I hear there is a way to lock the MPC so when you press space bar or play in pro tools it will automatically play your midi sequence from the MPC. Is there anyone that familiar with this?
