What's the prices for the 60?

nah not really, 700 will get u a fully upped mpc60.... and iuf you're smart and read the shit well, and know ebay buyings, u won't get **** over.

i bought i think 2 for 600 fully upgraded:-)

very few problems wit mpc60s...just the display and buttons, both of which are really easily user fixable( a can of compressed air will fix most button problems...)

constant use will make your buttosn better:-)

buttons don't work after a while generally from dust on the contacts, you can clean these, or you an replace them. contacts get dirty and it gbecsmo harder to trigger...

the pads on my forat are that a problem, but i think it's just in the way i'm storing samples that's doing it. that's what forat says, but i'm not exactly sure how his method differs:-)

i duno bro, if you're paying 800+ for an mpc60 you're getting rippeed off..

i'm used to buying used gear, when you get used to fixing up shit, u kinda laugh when people don't buy things cuz of really minor things.

I got my mpc3000 for $800 because it was missing a knob cap! lol $4 from akai!:-)

Youre right i dont pay for a 60 in good condition to expect to pay more to fix it. That isnt an honest deal. 800 for a 60 in "very good condition" or the like, cosmetically and mechanically certainly isnt a bad deal with OS and Mem upgrade (SCSI a bonus definantly). Like i said check tha 'bay homie. You will see the going price. What you choose to pay doesnt make it the going rate for these machines.

Eventually the buttons will need repair. Once you have to start pressing harder on the buttons to get them to work..its time to have them repaired. If you don't, it will be more costly later.

Its a gamble buying MPCs on eBay. Most MPC sellers on eBay are first time sellers...many of those sellers bough their MPCs on eBay. Its best to buy an MPC from a person that has good feedback with selling similar items.

Word. I always have a can of "compressed" air sitting next to my equipment and believe me my buttons aint fixed.

I think the one thing you should definetly stay away from is Brokers when buying MPC's. They really dont have a clue. I got ripped off on my MPC3000 & not much you can do. It turns out I will have to invest $250 more to get it up to par. Therefore, that great deal turned out to be an OK deal as opposed deal. Still, out of all the places you can buy one Ebay is the safest overall.

replaced. The MPC seemed to be pretty clean, but it needs repairs
