Differences Between 1.14 and 1.2

Hi, im new to this board. I've recently got a 2000XL and i was jus wonderin what the differences are between the 1.14 and 1.2 operating system. I tried searching but no luck. Thanks if any one knows.

i wouldnt know, maybe just added support for card readers. no new functions that im aware of.

That link doesn't work anymore man. I tried that like a month and a bit ago and it wasn't working then. He should definitely put it back up somewhere though cause it was a good letter.

So it seems no one knows? i tried looking on the AKAI website but hey have information.

1.20 is for 1-2gb cards.

There are no new menu features in the OS, it's just a bigger card handling update from what I remember reading.

I use 1.14 and my cf card is 512, I have no problems. at all.

1.2 does not add any "card specific" handling, just changes the MPC's 'format' operation to a PC's partition table style. Applies to hard drives, zips, SM, CF, PCMCIA drives.

The limit for this format is the same for FAT16: 2 Gig, non-partitionable.

In layman's terms that means that stuff formatted on the MPC will work on (most) people's PC's now.
