how do you work that one out? as far as i gathered in my research, the mpc motherboard itself can only read one side of the SODIMM, so unless you can fin a 2gig SODIMM, then we're screwed!

The CPU is 32 bit, so can theoretically address up to 4 gig, but that doesn't mean that it's supporting chips and signal paths wired up in the 1000 will allow that.

Also, yeah, I think Akai missed a trick only making it USB slave compatible, but these things are designed at a price point and with a specific feature set in mind, and having full USB support may not have been a priority

to add to that i think the fact they knew they were bringing out a hard drive for it meant that it wasn't really necessary to add usb master functionality, although cd drives would have been great, there is a Cf card slot, which at that price point isn't too bad i guess. USB 2.0 should have been implemented tho.

Unfortunately that is a CPU issue. Look at the detailed specs on it and it says that it's only 1.1 compliant. And I'm guessing when you're designing a system, the CPU is one of the first things you decide on
