what iz the best way to find out what key your sample iz and iz there any software that does this 4 you.

its called a keyboard. Get a lil keyboard, use a piano, or use a vst keyboard. there are programs that can give you the key basing by frequncies but with a sample off a record you have alot of elements, like bass, drums, keys, etc... that it wont read it right. So get a keyboard and do it by ear. its really the only way.

I'm not sure what the easiest way is but I suggest you learn your basic major and minor scales which will make it easy to find out what key it's in. What I do is figure out the notes of the sample on the keyboard (replay it) which only takes a few seconds which in-turn also tells me what key it's in, also most samples are usually out of tune just a bit so you may need to tune them also.

If you don't have a trained ear, then unless you have some kind of program that has a better ear than you, then it's virtually impossible....

If you know scales, then usually, the first chord played in the song, or the first chord in the loop USUALLY falls on the chord (or some similar replacement chord) of that scale. For example, if the song is in Cm, then the first chord played woule probably be a Cm, or maybe a Cm7.....

But to an untrained ear, or to one who doesn't know basic scales, all of that is useless anyway.

just do what sounds good

i let the sequnce play with just the sample, and i just play around till it sounds right

Any Instrument you are familar with can help you pick out the notes....You can also train your ear ro recognize pitch...
