BUY a drummachine ! preferrebly BOSS. or Roland. When you get paid next go to a pawn shop/guitar center and look for a dr 5, dr 660, dr3, dr 670,dr 770, dr 202.

i saw a dr 660 on ebay for $36 dollars another at $49, you can definitly make drumbeats on that.

you need get familiar with the sequencer, and taping in beats or step recording them. then you will be ready for an MPC and will actually be able to use it. and you wont be lazy and just loop a drumbreak you will be able to create breaks. choping breaks will make more sense and you will do it more correctly if you can make your own beat from individual drum sounds ie kicks snares highhats.

when i got my mpc2000xl i walked into the store with $2000, but it was $2099 plus tax because it had 8outs,digital in/out & EB16 effects,smpte. and they wouldnt finance me on $200 i didnt have bad credit i just had a bank account and never had any bills in my name before. i had to go back in two weeks to get it.

American Musical Supply is where i got my 2kxl. 3 payments of like $312. good thing about them is they ship it right out and then take out the remainding balance from your bank account. To me thats better than going to GC puttin it on layaway cause you dont have to wait. I got mine as a floor model but it came with all the disk and manual plus a 45 day moneyback return policy.

For future reference...

If you walk into a music store with 2Gs to buy something that costs $2200, you should be able to walk out of there with the gear. Just like car dealerships, they'll take straight up cash over anything else. Some people will try and take a solid stance and say they can't take anything off. If that's the game they want to play and are being hard-nosed about it, tell them to hook you up with something else. If they say no, then you tell them you're going elsewhere (provided there is an "elsewhere). I've gotten stuff in both cases. One store told me they couldn't give me anything, and I went to another and paid $50 less than I planned on paying. Most times when I stay at the store, I usually get a gang of stuff worth at least one or two hundred dollars.

Be hard nosed yourself. You're spending a ton of hard earned money, so get what you can get.

Yes sir...i'll be damned if i go into a store with 2 grand and can't walk out of there with the gear i want,especially if it's only a $200 difference.Now 6-700 is a little bit harder but most places will take your cash anyday.

man I won an auction a while back for mpc 2000. The price was only $425 but now the it seems like the seller is trying to back out. I was so hyped but also a little skeptical cuz it was so cheap but now dude wont return my messages.

That is not that much less than an entry level MPC, only $153 to go. If you replace some of the above with premium stuff like a powerful PC, better soundcard and better software then you will easily exceed the cost of any MPC.

Reason and a midi controller will do good for you now as it will do for you in the future. That's a decent setup.

You think the price for the MPC's are bad? In the late 80's + early 90's samplers were so expensive that I had to take out a 3 year loan to buy a 16 bit sampler, which was USED for $4600+, and that was deal!!!
My other choice was a Akai S1100 for about $4500..
Thinking back now, you can NOW get a S1100 for about $100..
Look for a AKAI S950 and make some tracks...They are pretty cheap now..(I wont even bother telling you how much those were when they came out..)

Man on the real first Pray about it, start cutting back on the thing you don't have to have, and just stack it up. It only take about $600.00 to $800.00 to cop a MPC nower dayz. I beieve in you little homie it ain't as hard as you think. And to answer your original question how do you come up with that kind of money? work at it like anything else in the world if it's worth having it's worth working hard to get it.
