Will the 2500 ever play multi-samples?

Sup folks. had my inut for a couple weeks and looking forward to the next OS upgrade. timestretch sucks big time and sometime it will reboot in the middle of doing a track. But my main concern is beening able to play multi-sample like my Motif ES, ASR-10, etc etc. I love the drum and sample loop sync, but i also like to playmy own piano, bass, etc parts

Who knows?? But currently, the MPC 4000 is the only MPC that plays multi-samples in the way same way as other stand alone hardware samplers.

I was thinking bout returning it and getting a used 4000.

Isn't a PGM with mulitple drums a multisample kit?
Isn't a PGM piano with multiple samples of that piano at different pitches
a multisample kit?

Does the 2500 use PGM's?

i dont know if he is, but what is a multi sample.

seriously though. Mutli-samples, Layered, stacked what every the hell you wanna call em.

I think this feature is called "Program Type(Key Group)"

I just would like to be able to play my own created performance along with mono/stereo samples/loops.

Actually man, it's 1/3 joke, 1/3 common sense and 1/3 serious.

common sense to answer my questions and you will have answered yourself.

a joke cause this question didn't even have to be asked if the author KNEW what a multisample is.

serious cause all mpc's can play pgm's and a PGM is nothing but a collection of samples, ANY sample so it's in all honesty a MULTI-SAMPLE pgm.

But, yeah, my post is whatever you want it to be that's why I worded it the way I did. My FIRST post was a joke and I went back to reword it and that's how it came out.

Cool...but to answer nukmusic question honestly...the 2500 sampler doesn't perform like the MPC 4000, ASR, Triton, Fantom X, or most of the hardware (as well as software) samplers that came out in the past 10 years. At least with the current OS....no keygroups or similar functions, so loading a bunch of piano multi-samples is possible..however, it is less than ideal.

P.S. I was laughing reading posts. I have never beat a sample/loop producer. If i like something I just find the closes sounds and replay it. But I could never get my drum grooves as tight as a mpc My boy just put the idea in my head to send it back for a used 4000. and now that the O.S. has a few bugs......it seems real tempting. my 2500 rebooted a few times while i had beats in progress. and now the Timestretch" is activing up. It never really detected the correct tempo anyway.....LOL

maybe I should just cop the 1000 just for my drums either way I would hate for AKAI to drop the new O.S. with the bug fixes and that "Keygroup" feature like on the 4000, I wonder if "Keygroup" is a software upgrade or both Soft/hardware upgrade.

I doubt hardware upgrade.
