how many midi ins/outs will i need on my computer? i dont have a midi interface, and I was thinking about the m-audio "uno"....but i was wondering if that'd be enough? it's one in and one out.

i got the uno. all you need is one. uno, reason and mpc is a GREAT setup. very powerful

but you will need another midi cable to connect your midi keyboard to the mpc so you can play out the synths and other reason sounds into the mpc (if that's what you want to do. you can also bang the pads to get the same sound)

nice video, question though, can you do this without using a midi controller? i would just like to use the pads on my mpc to trigger whatever module is loaded in reason.

i have the mpc 4000, should i just hook it up to my cmoputer through usb? sorry i don't have my equipment in front of me right now so i can't test it out.

you are going to have to rewire reason into cubase. i am using nuendo and that's what i have to do. i have nuendo as the master of my MPC and i have my MPC the master of reason so when everything is going, it's a complete circle between nuendo, mpc and reason then right back into nuendo.

i would have my rewire channels going in nuendo while i'm actually recording the tracks from the mpc. once i got that down i would go back to nuendo then bounce my rewire channels to audio an import them on an audio track in nuendo. which version of cubase do you have?

i know, i know.... i have a video on tracking from the mpc to a DAW and i have another video showing how to use reason as a sound mod with the mpc, i have to make one bringing them all together.

i will make one soon. i'm overdue on a couple of videos that i'm supposed to be doing. i'll get it done soon. but in the mean time, if you need assistance, PM me. i answer all PM's (at least i try to) in a timely manner.

finally got round to watching this vid yesterday, maybe i'll get round to installing reason and making a beat with it soon

never really messed with reason, but i'll give it a go sooner or later.

thx for the vid spark, looks very simple to hook up.

it is extremely simple. alot of cats here are making it harder than it looks. all it is, is just a few clicks in reason, turning the data wheel on the mpc a couple of times and plugging in a cable or two and that's it. there is no formula, or complex configuration about it. and it would work for any mpc model.

but as always, holla at me if you need help.
