Who gets rid of records and who is a packrat?

i get rid of most of the records i dont sample and only keep the ones i listen to
the ones i sample i keep in a closet ay my aunts i dont have any desire to keep them around my cribs small no space for all that
i keep maybe 100 records around just how i do it

keeps all of mine. sampled or not. been buying records for over 20 years, I only buy the joints that I want in my collection. At some point you just go out looking for the stuff that you need and want to hear.

I keep all of mine, while some labels I collect (eg Sound Signature/UR). I would probably buy more vinyl if I had the time to listen to it all tho I do try and get on the decks once a week for a few hours. Recently I have been thinking of trimming back a few of the collectables I have which are of no ionterest to me (ie I dunno why I bought them in the first place), mainly to sink money into the studio side of things (need some good monitors, want a better desk etc) but even that will be something of a wrench to do.

I'm a definate packrat! I keep everything. I have never heard a record that couldn't be used. 99% of my collection is some wack schyt. Free, 25cent albums. I have a lot of $1 records, and very few $3 and up records. I mainly go off what the cover looks like and the date it was recorded. I probably have about 3000+ records, and maybe 100 or so are keepables.

It's getting bad in my house alot of my records are in the loft. I have a small walkway in my studio room the rest is packed with records and I DO need to throw some out. Job for the weekend.
