replacing variation slider

so I took my xl to the repair shop today to get the note variation slider replaced. The guy at the shop said that he could use any slider that fit for the new slider. Is this true? I know that akai has replacement sliders available. Do I need to have one of these or is the repair guy correct and any slider will do that fits?

He works there, so i think he would be right.

i would just order a variation slider from vst. its only a few dollaz and it is the right one

Yeah have the same problem...I just ordered it at guitar center down by West Lake. It was like $10.00.
