wow. thats a pretty bold statement, maybe i'm takin it outta context...maybe i'm takin this whole thread outta context, cause i still hear a lot of good music, especially considering the fact that there is soooo much rubbish out there.
if you're just talkin about whats on the radio, though, the options become much more limited.
granted, the technology has changed, and so has the industry. money is evil, blah, blah blah. that does not excuse the fact that people are just making sh!te music.
i, for one, love technology, and without the evolution of said technology, we would not be doin what we love today. i think the linndrumm hit the market like at $25k. no way there would be such a thing as a bedroom producer if the machines we love had not become outdated.
i love the vintage analogue sound, and i'm glad that there are others seeking it out in the form of both gear and in wax...but i'm also glad that there are digital counterparts out there as well, for the convenience, price and the fact that there will be a variety of sounds out there. no one wants everyone to sound the same. plus nowadays, the sounds ultimately gonna become digital anyways, but if you're sampling from vinyl, you're still diggin'.
.dope.
