You can time stretch the sample. Or if the sample ends before 4 bars you can slow the sample down. Or you can speed the overall tempo of the beat up to fit the sample. If the sample cuts off because its too long, you can time stretch. Or you can speed the sample up to make it fit.

Just make sure the sample ends at the end of a beat (or tick) and also starts on the beat.

E.g. for a 4/4 House kick you would want to start the sample on the very front edge of the first *boom* that being the first kick, then after another 3 kicks you would want to stop the sample just before the beginning of the 5th *Boom* (kick)

Basically just mess around and by ear you should pick it up. Get a program like Soundforge or one of the many other free wave editors there is and have a play around and you'll soon learn what works.

AS for making it seamless, this also comes down to the tempo. If you insert a sample into the 1000, you can either change the length of the loop by pitching it up or down (changes the sound, can dound chipmunky (pitch up) or slooooow (pitch down)) to fit your intended tempo. Or you can change the tempo to match the length of the sample so that it loops seamlessly with no space at the end of the sample.

Hope I've helped. Can be quite difficult trying to explain these things although there's many tutorials on the net. Just go the the thread entitled "link to MAN beatmaking videos" or something along those lines.
Best thing to do though is just spend time on here and time on the MPC just messing about, itll soon start to click.

whats good yall? man, i just signed up for this forum about two hours ago and i understand yall stress to keep searching but i just cant find any answers to my questions. So please take it easy on me.

Im a musician and i travel alot back and forth between New York and Houston putting down tracks with a lot of different people. My musical knowledge is quite extensive, but i just got an MPC 1000 and im pretty lost.

I dont really have a problem with sequences, mixing, or layering. My problem is:

1. I cant figure out how to input my guitar or bass into an existing track or to start a new one.

2. is there any way to download new kit, keyboard, and bass sounds? there are not as money options as i expected.

I appreciate yall and any help you can provide. Holla back!
