Zonning

how exactly does this differ from extracting samples on our current OS.....like how does this shit make life easier....i have no problem choppin as of now....basically whats the number one advatege...or is zonnig just a "word"?

ok. zoning is a blessing from a god that's bigger, stronger and faster than your god. it's my favorite trick on any sampler/software program.

you can use zoning to chop a sample into up to 64 pieces and assign it to the pads of the mpc. they don't have to be even pieces, either - you can do what i do and urge upon my peers - chop each note into its own file and then recreate the melody in realtime. this gives a LOT more power over your sample.

zoning is an important part of patch phrasing. sparq's video on this is a good demonstration of the mpc's patch phrasing ability - however, he didn't quite do it right in the vid. patch phrasing works best when you adjust each start/end of the zoning to the start/end of a note - otherwise you can tell it's been chopped. patch phrase correctly and you'll find that you can pitch up/down or change the tempo of your project damn near seemlessly.

you can emulate this on the mpc right now with recycle/bluebox...i do this with every sample i sample.

Zoning is a gift from the gods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you arent having any trouble chopping and whatnot with your beats dont even worry about the new os.dont get me wrong i want it but just as something to play with. haha not like its going to make my beats better its just going help make working easier. oh i guess i answered your question. but geah man. good to hear that your not complaining about it saying "man i cant make beats until i get that new os" have somethings i needa zone and strech! hahahah shits makes me laugh, instead of working on it they complain on the board.

i know it has made my music alot better, and by better i mean, when i think of something creative i do it, and if its going to take me a while to produce that one thang thats creative, the longer i wait the more stale it becomes. It makes it so your ideas are fresh and dont have you listening to your beat for 1 hours before you adjust anything...So it that way (creativity) it does make your music sound alot clearer and better/

so it just makes shit faster...thats whats up though...sometimes i sit there and chop my shit and by the time i finsish chopping what i want, im already tired of hearing the sample and dont hear the same shit that got me to want to sample the thing in the first place.......no reason to stress over having but it wont hurt....if they got it then let us get it...but not having it aint gonna stop shit for me

I love the zoning feature. Dont know what I would do without it.

hehehe i plan on redoing that video. i fugured out how to correctly do patch phrasing.
