I place my MPC on a pad of foam rubber. That way if I'm really banging, it has a little bit of give, and doesn't ruin my hands.
Be careful, you could give yourself joint problems, etc.


Also, remember that the midi velocity is measuring how 'fast' you're hitting the pad, not how 'hard' you're hitting.
You can produce a high velocity hit without using very much pressure at all.

True. Changing the velocity/volume ratio allows me to hit full velocity without bruce lee speed.
