Scratching with one turntable.

Scratching with one turntable.

I know this is for MPCs but I know most of you dj too so here's a question:

I just want to scratch for my friend's band so can I just buy a mixer and a turntable or do I need 2 turntables?

1 turntable is fine for scratching unless you plan on doing scratching, blending and other stuff that requires 2 tt's.

think about what you wanna do and go ahead and do that.

That's basically my set-up right now. I just purchased an MPC4000 and a 1200 turntable. Still waiting on the MPC...but in the mean time I've been scratching with my turntable. What sucks though is you can't scratch to a beat, unless you create it on your mpc and then burn it to CD and play it on ya stereo or something.

u can scratch to your beat playing on the 4k.

scratching is a dj technique that is learned and perfected in the context of blending and mixing......

yall new jacks kill me........

i mean trying to do some ol' level 8 ish when you cant even figure out to toss that turtle shell....

i add scratches in cubase after the beats recorded, just record stright to cubase

Eventually u are going to want a second turntable. So u might as well go head and get it now. I just sold one of my technics and now iM pissed.

^word. That's why I said I'm currently saving up for another one. I want it to be a 1200 though. I agree about the whole "it's not the price but what you do with it" shit, but as far as reliability you kind of want something that'll last awhile.

I have two turntables and a mixer and Im going to sell one of my turntables. I dont want to be a dj and mix records and juggle and all that. Im over that Im just gonna focus on beats cuz thats what im good at. I just need one turntable and a mixer to sample with and add some cuts over the finished beat.
