importing files from a Mac

I'm new and I swear I searched all the forums and I've read my manual but I can't find an answer to this anywhere (by the way, the manual sucks!). I'm sure it's somewhere up here but I've been navigating for like 20 minutes and my high's starting to wear off. Here's my problem:
I hook my MPC up through USB to my Mac, the icon shows up, I drag and drop the files (saved as .wav and I also tried .aiff), I drag it to the trash, unhook, the files are "on" the MPC, BUT...when I try to LOAD the file it says "Wrong File!". When I try it with the .aiff it doesn't let me do anything.
What am I doing wrong? Please help becuase I really want to be able to cut up my samples on my computer and drag em to the MPC. Thanks!

I continued searching and found that the .wavs had to be 16bit (mine were 24bit). That's one corner I left unturned in my plight to load these damn files! Curses!!!!**shaking fist** I hope if nothing else this will help some other person with this same problem. Word.-----solo

yes, you helped me. my boy gave me a bunch of totally slamming samples that are unusable. what a **** drag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Download Audacity.
And load them in there and change them to 16 Bit.

there´s alot of tools for the mac

as already mentione audacity

then we got

- peak
- spark xl
- yaac (a convertor)

have a look that the file have the.wav suffix and do not use any compression than PCM and 44 kHz, then it should work fine
