Whats A Better Deal?????!!??!

What up?

Im still debating like crazy wether to buy an MPC 1000 or 2000xl. A friend of mine is selling an MPC2000XL with 32MB ram,and a Zip Drive for $850 which is almost the same price as the MPC1000. But then again what i hear is that the mpc1000 has a usb slot so i can jus drag and drop files to and from my computer in seconds...which would you guys choos...please some experienced MPC heads HELP!!!

It all depends on what you want. Your final decision should be based on what you want. I recommend getting the 1000. I like the 1000 because you can just drag and drop files back and forth, and I like it for the effects(if your not going to be using it in a big studio). The thing the 1000 lacks is timestretch and reverse, but then again if you are using the USB on the 1000, you probably will have soundforge or some editing program so that takes care of it......... If you are going to be carrying your MPC back and forth to your boys studio or something, I would recommend the 1000 because its obviously lighter and compact.

Like I said, the final decision is yours but there are so many arguable points about the 2000XL and the 1000. You need to figure out whats more important to have for you.

Easy one... 2GB flash mem and usb to computer. No brainer. Cmon man.

yeah i get what your saying...but then agian ive been hearing that the mpc1000 has a weak cleaner sound..and to be honest i love the gtimey hard hitting sound the 2kxl can produce...im still deciding..cause the way i see it im gonna be making hiphop beats only so 32mb ram and a zipdrive should be aiight for the time being...what you think?

the 1000 is cheaper and has more options. Like a bunch of cats said

If you want to spend more money, get the 200xl.

I have some stuff for sale in the eqpt forum.
also think about the emu-PX7 bruv, learn the ropes before you get on some real power.

yeah i get what u saying...but im not the RICHEST cat in the world as u can probably tell since it took me 3 years just 2 save up 879.00 ....but anyway like i said my peoples is sellin his MPC2000XL w 32MB RAM and a Zip drive for 850...basically the same price as the MPC1000...so im stuck..
beacuse what ive also noticed is that the mpc 2000xl has not gone down in price much in like 3 years...its always been about 1200...even after the relase of the 1000..so that is goo dcaus eif i ever want 2 sell my mpc i could probably get rid of it easy...

will he give you samples and disks?
will it come with EFX?
more than stereo outs?
flash ram board?
USB card?

If not there is your answer. Reason- the 1000 has all of this and more.

question, what is your boy getting with the money that he gets from you?
buying a mpc1000?
