Bad Memory Slots on MPC 2kxl - Would you repair or sell?

I have gotten 3 different memory upgrades(even a vst) and I am convinced the memory slots are bad. It is really limiting using only 2mb of sounds at a time. Would it be cheaper to sell this one for a discount and buy a different one with the upgrade installed or send it somewhere to be repaired?


If repaired is the answer, what place would you recommend sending it too that does good work for good pricing?

Partly would depend on where you are located. If you next door to me I would take a look for free (I do board level repair, 'cause I can and I charge peanuts).

It is typical that even the best shop would not waste the time to do board level troubleshooting/repair when it is far easier and cheaper to just replace the board. Unless there is glaringly wrong with the memory connection that even you can spot, it is just to be replaced.

How much do new boards run these days? Do anyone know of any repair shops they have used personally that you would trust again with your mpc?
