Nobody has the ram yet. Akai dropped the ball like a mofo when they released this beast.

There are a few people that have the RAM. One guy in Seattle is selling a loaded up MPC with RAM on eBay.

Maybe ask him where he got it and if he can sell you just the AKAI RAM.

peace

What does the OS really do for the MPC. does this have anything to do with fixing minor bugs in the machine and/or letting it work properlly without crashing?

so it comes out of the box basically loaded with all 8ouputs, with the USB cable and thats it.

so what you will need is to upgrade it to 128 MB and get a flashcard that can store more memory.

one last question if you dont mind me asking.

the compact flash card is 2 Gigabyte and you can even get flash cards with more memory right?

so can the compact flash card memory store as much info like a zip disk does on the XL running a zip drive?

flash cards are faster and more convient than zips. also cheaper in the long run since you can always dump the card contents on your pc and reuse the same card...

It comes standard with a Flash card.
