Saving and File Maintaining

Hey-

So I'm new to the MPC2500 (stock no upgrades yet) and have a couple questions about saving.

1. If you save a Program, does that PGM file need to be in the same folder as the samples that are associated with it? I've read how some people organize their samples by type (kick, snare etc.) in different folders so I am curious about where Programs need to be saved. I want to be able to select the desired Program and have it load my samples (unless you can offer a better method)

2. Am I correct in understanding that the only way to save effect sets is by saving with 'entire memory' option? Isn't that a lot to save for just an effect setting? Am I misunderstanding something here.

I usually make a new folder under the name of the beat I do and save the "all" and "aps" under that folder. I dont get too technical wit saving

So that means you are saving the same samples multiple times? Once in your folder where you keep all your samples and once in the folder named after your beat?

I guess that won't make much difference once I get a HD installed in the 'two five'. Working with a 32MB CF card has me getting paranoid about my free space. It's has already caused issues in the few short weeks I've owned it.

save everything for that particular song in the SAME folder.
