Probably in actual fact would cause some damage.

The Brazilian Hack has already maxed this MPC60's memory out by using up the lines an expansion board would otherwise be connected to.

The above just to confirm the "JK :lol" by 2wice for those that may have missed his tongue in cheek reply.

You know the early Linn 9000 upgrades by Forat are similar to that, chips on top of chips with wires going from pins to other pins etc. Whoever did this must have known their stuff.

Send the pic to Forat, he might know something about it. Maybe after memory boards were no longer in production?

I hope it isn't the memory causing the sound problems, that might be difficult to deal with.

i have continued to have problems with the scratchy output and have come to the conclusion that where the wires are connected to may have a lot to do with it
i see from this that the wires are connected to the adjacent socket:


mine is attached to a nearby chip
can anyone give me some desoldering and soldering tips on how to move these to the socket?

if im totally off on my analysis please let me know

The wiring on the "RETROSYNTH" mod -v- that of the "BRAZILLIAN HACK" in your machine is not much different.

The wires in the "RETROSYNTH" mod route to the same chip pins via the expansion connector that your "BRAZZILIAN HACK" does instead by a more direct wiring route.

Moving the wires around won't change anything if you've already got the full ram showing as available.

im still buggin over this scratchy output then
wondering what it could be
id send it to get serviced but im not too sure what to say is the problem
i reseated the voice chips as mentioned earlier
ill tinker with it some more
