switching frm vinly to mp3?...pros an cons

Im thinking of selling my turns and getting those numark pdx cd turntables...has any1 used them and how would you rate them?.
Also I love vinyl but im not in a good location to buy records on a daily basis , mp3's however prove to be more cost effective and ill be able to burn my own cds , what are the drawbacks of mp3's? such has sound quality...and over all would this be a good switch?

serato scratch live - best of both worlds, feel of vinyl, cost effective, great sound...

Iv heard theres a lot of glitchs with serato....does it work okay , how do you find downloading and useing mp3's

no glitches what-so-ever that i've found in serato. runs flawlessly.

you might be thinking of final scratch? thats has a load of bugs apparently. dont know if its been updated or not by now.

but yeah, if you like mixing with vinyl but wanna go digital, Serato is the one to for IMO.

i have roughly 40000 mp3s of various stuff and find it easy as pie to scratch it in, mix it, etc.

i use serato while tracking out my beats actually and mixing them - if i want my sounds to scratch in rather than just drop in, i throw the wav on serato and do a could scratches and then queue it up in my sequencing program.

it's great. cheaper than cdx, too. just make sure you use good cables - the less noise there is on your timecode signal the better results you will get and the slower you can move the record with realistic vinyl control reproduction.

i've said it b4.......tascam cdx 1500 and 2 ttm1 controllers under $700 with no need for a laptop that may or may not be succeptible to crashing or getting a drink spilled on it, dropped, stolen, etc

looked it up on the net and it looks good , dumb question...can u drop the needle any where on the track on the time disc?

basically, yes. there are different modes of play - one where it doesn't matter where the needle is placed so it'll keep playing from the same spot. ie, skip proofing. that sounds like what you're looking for.
