Tap Tempo generates MIDI?

I have a MPC 1000 triggering a Motif Rack for drums. I noticed that when I press the Tap Tempo button during recording it's actually sending midi notes to my motif thus recording this low conga like sound which I can hear very low. Has anyone had this happen to them and is so how can it be turned off?

think you have to turn the click off when recording

it is playin a pad as the click if u get me, most likely the pad with the conga sound ur talkin about

It only happens when I press just the Tap Tempo without a pad during record. When When in record mode the click is on but I can't anything from the motif. It weird because I had a roland xp-50 and it didn't happen to me with that machine. I just can't figure it out.

filter or turnoff the sysex for tempo and you wont see it

yamaha have some decididly whacky midi implimentations, the mod wheels on both my Yam's dont sync up to mod wheels on any VST/softsynth i use.

i've never seen a syncronized modwheel..

i think he means using the yamaha as a controller, the mod wheel doesn't affect the mod wheel on his VSTis.

What didn't you guys understand?
When I press the note repeat while in record mode without pressing a pad I can hear a faint sound from the motif with the note repeat setting. Anyway it's not happening since I upgrade to version 2.1. Thanks.
