Still, the '1000 has A LOT of features your 2xl will never have, so it is worth the upgrade.

here you go, on the other thread you were stating in a rather dramatic way that your mpc was falling apart. and it is not. "a bit loose" is rather different from "falling off".

same for the lag you claimed you had. i first thought it was a serious issue, until you stated that it happened only twice!!!

actually no, someone else said it was a problem for them (Solar, if i remember correctly, said he was getting a 20sec lag). i just stated that i experianced shorter lags on a couple of occasions myself. go back and read the thread through and you will also see that i stated it didnt really bother me and hasnt caused me any problems as i dont use my 1k in a live setup.

..and yes, if i dont bother to fix it and tighten 'em up, eventually the screws will jus fall out and the panels will come off.

screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place.

hilarious.. my pc rarely freezes, its a really nice laptop. but on the odd occasions that it does i'll be running a variety of different software on it, not just a simple operating system with a few samples loaded up in the ram. other than yourself upon reading about it, who's panicking?

you wont hear people mentioning problems with pads so frequently in the other the mpc forums because of the simple fact that they are of a better, stronger and more reliable design.

...has anyone more to contribute other than cheap dosey pot-shots?

Yeah true. I think I started this with my comment. I wasn't trying to take pot shots at anyone. I don't even remember who had a problem with what. I was just trying to make a point. No pot shots, etc. were intended, and especially not to anyone specific.

cool bro, i wouldnt take anything you said personally. but i do think its good to state for those who read through this forum (in consideration of buying a 1k) any problems that come up. not to put them off buying one, but so that they are aware of these things and can look out for them straight out of the box (while they may still have a warranty). let them make an informed desicion.

i couldnt care less about people sniping at me on any personal level, it doesnt bother me in the least. its just a waste of space, seems the large percentage of posts in the 1k forum are people just wasting space and contributing nothing. yeh, 'couse its cool to talk shit sometimes but...

pillage, all your posts are one example of this. why you feel the need to fill this forum with so much crap, i dont care. but realise that there are others who use this forum with purpose, tho i guess it doesnt bother you that you may spoil it for them. dont answer that.. nobody cares.

well, just tighten up the screws and your mpc won't be "falling apart" anymore. :)

ok the pads can be an issue, but it is a bit of an old news really.

what would be interesting to know is what happened to the people who attempted to fix it. (with this carbon contact repair thing)

i'm not your mate  dont be under any illusions about that. :)

maybe if you wanna talk sh1t at me, using pm would be more appropriate place for you to snipe rather than wasting more space.

i dont recall changing any story:

be scared.. the pads are weak

those that say don't bash them are right.. but so are those who said they didn't bash the pads and they stuill broke..

think about it.. why do only the pads on this model fail

but... everything else about the MPC1k makes it a good buy

I bought my mpc second hand off of ebay and it looked like it was used by a 1 armed man with a hook. I replaced the four buttons that were messed up and the pads have never given me a problem. I really think its fualty hardware only on certain mpcs. It is the first time akai has used smaller pads. I guess the people that have faulty pads are mpcs that were built on a friday or monday.

MPC1000 is great for on the road work or lack of space. If you have had an MPC before you will notice the difference but it will pass, i have a 2000 (i dont use) but i dont miss it in my work routine. The 1000 is great but sacrafices the pads due to the cost, but i dont miss it much i dont use it for live play ya know.

*pillage* - Do you do anything beside ride akais richard about "treating" people wrong? They are excellent just because they are not responsive to tech help to punk stupid ass's doesnt mean they are bad, only dumbass's call tech support and ask to many questions. The peeps making beats and know what to due because they have logic and figure ish out by themselves. Other than that, your just a lil chiwawa barkin and cant bite because your owner didnt wipe your ass after you took a shit and didnt put food in your bowl at 4 on the dot.
