Notice how the BEATS are different but the underlying RIDDIM is EXACTLY THE SAME? not interpolated or replayed but EXACTLY THE SAME?

I see what you mean. The overall rhythm (riddim) is exactly the same...The drums the percussion. The only thing different is maybe the BPM and the melody on top. I think most of what would be my work would be synth though, and getting hold of these Riddims to sample in good quality. My friend probably has those...since he is already making the mixtapes.

BTW, I spoke to my friend about this. He does have the riddims, but he wants to try original or new riddims programmed out from scratch with classic riddims just as an influence and inspiration....sounds good, and what I wanted to do in the first place. He's going to come by sometime in the next week and bring me a bunch of CD's to check out, so it's all good.

tic toc did geya some good advice and yu waan come twist it up, learn the basics first, then try do yu ting pun it, this is not hip hop,

nuff dance hall artist are musicians by nature, no sample business,

u need at least 4-8bars, to start with

tempo from 90 to bout 105,

flat wound string bass sample

tom layered with with kick,

lots of swing 55% upwards

hard compressed drums, side chained with bass maybe

and a catchy meoldy

in every music, there is a culture attached man yute, so if u nuh know de culture yu nah create di signature sound, every hip hop tune mi do, it never comin soundin like some 1 ina dat deh scene, ,yu get me.

I still use a 60. I bought a 3000 to resell it at a profit. I never stopped using an XL. Theres a difference between owning and using more than one machine for different purposes... and changing your mind constantly and trading them cuz you cant decide and you have no rhythm.
