Namm is this week so it will be a good time to release both Operating Systems if they are indeed ready......All this hype about an OS that probably isn't finished yet. I want a error free operating system eventually..but I will be cracking jokes if that MPC 1000 OS2.0 drops and have some of the same issues with the 2500. Yup..I will have plenty of fun

jahrome, what are some of the issues that the 2500 os has? other than midi/hardware issues.

CD-M25 with certain functions
Sample editing-especially timestretch
Problems with maxing out its memory

There are several thread detailing these issues.

this is the only one i'm interested in, esp if it happens in os2. i'm gonna look for the thread, but don't shoot me if i can't find it and come back asking for specifics.....

"2500 and timestretch" are gonna yield some broad-ass search results

yeah, i found it, thanks. seems like this isn't an issue in os 2.0. any other software bugs that might translate to the mpc1000?

So you are using the 1K-BK?

The 2500 Forum doesn't have many threads so it is easy to find problems that people reported.

no, i'm not, but sparq is (basically). and he didn't have that issue, so i'm not concerned. you just mentioned that the os2 for mpc1000 may have the same bugs as the 2500, so i'm just checking into that and finding that it seems we don't have to worry about 2500 bugs in the os 2 of the mpc1000

:)

Nice, I've been thinking about picking up the 824s myself once I've got more funds.

Honestly...I don't believe Sparq would/could post any bugs on the MPC 1000s new OS. I could be wrong...but I am skeptical. I thought about picking one up myself just to test the OS...but living back here in the USA...my wife is getting funny with the amount of money I spend especially since I am not hustling on eBay any longer (for the moment anyway). Since 1997 with the release of the MPC 2000, no product with a brand new OS has been fully functional. I doubt the MPC 1000s major OS update will be any different. If it is..it will be a miracle and Akai should charge MPC 1000 users for it

I wanted these for quite sometime now...but since I have been living in Japan for so many years...they were seriously over priced there and they were to expensive to ship. With $1258 being the most anyone would pay for them in the USA..that is very reasonable. I will probably hit up my local GC or give Alto Music a call to see what they will deliver them for...

$1258

That'd buy you some 624s with some change left over for cabling in the UK. Man we get shafted over here on prices.

Jahrome, why would you even think that. i can and have reported things i have found with the version that i have to akai. it's no secret to them that i have it. it was never a secret to akai that i had the version that i have. from the very beginning.

To Akai..right. But in these forums...no??

Not taking a shot at you. I just believe you can't/won't post any issues you find in these forums. Which is very reasonable to believe.

That $1258 is the no-haggle absolute maximum you should pay for those monitors in the USA. It is reasonable for them to be more expensive overseas...the reason why I didn't buy them a long time ago in Japan. Just like Akai, Roland, and Korg products are several hundred dollars cheaper in Asia than anywhere else.
