Now...are you implying that you have posted bugs (which I am 100% sure that are there) that you have found in the MPC 1000s 2.0 (or 1.99 whatever) in these forums?? If so, let me apologize ahead of time.

Your own words "i can and have reported things i have found with the version that i have to akai". So there are bugs as I have suspected...and will most likely be one or more when everyone gets their hands on this new OS.

If Akai let more actual MPC users beta test these Operating Systems in the real-world....these machines would be solid upon release. I found 2 bugs within 24 hours on the 2500.........

ok, i have answered your question regarding a particular bug; the one about the funky screen then locking up. i also reported to akai (when i first got that version) a bug on the "detect tempo" how it doesn't work 100% of the time. i also reported a bug on the cutoff filter not working properly with the slider in real time.

i did not then nor now dig into the OS in search of bugs but every question that was brought up regarding the new os, i've answered. until you, no one asked me to look for a bug so i did not state any here on the boards.

although i'm sure there may be a few others with the version that i have, i'm hoping that since the 2500 came out in october and the final revision of the 1k os (nov, 15) akai addressed and looked into possible bugs of the 1k os. i'm also hoping that they addressed the detect tempo bug that i reported back in october.

but as with every mpc that akai put out, there are and have been bugs with the public copy only to be fixed at a later date. and even though i'm hoping for a bug free 2.0, i seriously doubt that it will be.

as far as public consumer beta testing, maybe Jack will implement that practice in the future (but i doubt that too)

My guess is that he has very little to do with the way MPCs are manufactured/programmed. He is most likely the finance guy and leave the day to day operations to the folks that are suppose to be the experts.

you're probably right. i just mentioned his name cause he is still the head.

I'm thinking they'll not market around the NAMM trade show. Either you do or you don't have a decent debugged OS on time. I expect they are recoding a new web site.

I find it strange they don't allow more beta testing. It will only help in debugging. Elektron did that with the Machinedrum and now they have for the most part a very stable OS.

OT: I saw an Akai 13 in TV/dvd in Radioshack today for $90. I wanted it.

Be patient people! Here's a bright spot amongst all this OS2.0 bickering. Just be glad you own a dizzamm good sampler already for under $1,100 Hell--just think if Akai never existed, you would be paying 3X more than this sucker paid a for a SP1200.

I feel sick......

When I was getting rid of my SP1200 on eBay...I only got $1200 for it. The winning bidder paid for it for a friend of the family that was from a foreign country....I think in Asia. He sent it to him via USPS but didn't insure it. It never made it.....

Someone is customs probably made beats.

Not really. If it was just an MPC, it wouldn't have been a big deal because I always kept quite a few. But this was an SP1200 in mint condition. I only had this one and it had a special place in my heart. I wanted to get it in the hands of someone that would take good care of it. Plus it was for this young kid that had his heart set on it. He didn't have Pay Pal and had to have someone in the USA pay for it and send it to him. It wasn't my fault but I felt really bad that he didn't receive it.
