hey, my pads are fine when im not recording but when i start recording the sound gets really quiet and scratchy and then it goes back to normal after recording. its kind of hard to explain. any help? thanks

recording what? samples? sequences? which MPC?

hey, sorry about that, its a mpc601. it happens when im recording sequences. ill have a sound/sample assigned to a pad and it will sound normal while im editing or just hitting the pad, but when i go to record during the recording the sound from the pad gets real quiet and scratchy, and then when its done recording and i hit play the sound goes back to normal. thanks for the help

weird, I can't say that I have a clue as to what is causing that.

Does your 60 have the expanded memory? If so you might try the cleaning the connector thing. Ity's a long shot but it causes a lot of weird sound. reseating ribbon connectors and voice chips might be a good attempt as well.

maybe some of our more knowledgeable heads will have a clue.

Just a thought... check to make sure that the Velocity setting on the play/record screen is set to 100% on the track that you are attempting to record on.
