another bug

for some odd reason everytime i press play on the mpc my fantom-s changes the patch of the track i'm in. This happens on a completely new sequence w/ nothing saved or recorded to the sequencer. Am i doing something wrong or is it the MPC? Cause i never had this problem when working w/ the 1000 but 2500 is a different strory it seems.

Why is it that folks can't just be helpful sometimes and answer questions instead of being snotty and arrogant azzholez?? He obviously has a valid question. And this is just a question on my part, not a reason to get assbent. Yeah, I got jokes

I had the same problem with my 2500 and Triton. There is an option on the Triton to "enable program changes", and it is selected by default. I deselected it, and now everything works great. Look for a similar option on your Fantom.

Actually...99.9% of the time (I am not snotty or arrogant) I answer questions like these..no matter how many times they are posted..even though there are thread with the same info that is very easy to find. So...yeah..I got jokes this time around. Especially since I waited for someone to give some helpful info first

This site would ge very boring if we didn't have fun from time to time.

Yeah, you're right, thats why I usually post these types of responses... kinda just to get a little reaction out of people. Sorry about the "arrogant azzhole" thing though, it was'nt my intent to offend I guess I'm guilty of being the azzhole (which is something I have been called for years now).

in the main screen highlight the program at the bottom of the screen, hit open window and change pgm changes in track (or something like that) change it to NO or OFF

u gotta do it everytime for each track u use as midi

Or...you can always look in the Fantom's MIDI documentation for the bank/patch select settings (LSB/MSB). Make these settings on each MPC track so it will recall the right Fantom patches everytime...you will never have to wonder which patches you used to create songs.....

It's much easier to disable program changes on the Fantom. I know the Triton has this option, so I'm sure the Fanton does too. And you only have to do it once if you save that setup.

I tried setting them on each pgm and to no avail the patches were gone after shutting the proteus off and back on

hope you sort your proteus issue out, i nearly took an axe to my 1K last night when i keept losing the MSB/LSB vlaues in the tracks.

Thanks for the info. I'm just wondering why they would have set the program to change by default. That doesn't make any sense for akai to do. But that is a good idea to save the MSB/LSB info to each midi track but i prefer to save a seperate on the fantom cause it saves patch and effect info as opposed to the program change which only saves the patch.

The Proteus should work fine if you have it in multi-mode and use the right LSB/MSB settings. If you create new patches on the Proteus, be sure to save them in a user bank. Even user banks have a specific LSB/MSB.
