grid edit

eyo i am interested in the grid edit on the 2500,i could sale me into gettiin one.
would anyone be kind enough to upload some pics of it....please haha

Grid Edit was THE main reason I spent a few extra bucks to get the 2500 over the 2000XL. It was worth the money.

I'm not very familiar with using grid edit but I have toyed with it a lil bit but nothing too deep

I was just wondering what is it exactly about grid edit that yall love so much

I usually play all my stuff in, I'm just wonderin if its something I'm missing out on by not using it

Im just guessing it would make it easyer to drop a snare or a kick in the middle of a sequence.

yeah, its more editing power.

Yeah, it's just much easier to accurately place snares and kicks where they belong. I suck at playing live because I have no timing. I program my drums completely using Grid Edit, and have gotten really good at it (after using the Motif's grid mode for years). Plus, you can easily lay down rapid fire snare rolls and those fast dirty south hi hats without having to slow down the tempo to do it right. Once you get familiar with where beats go in the grid without having to hear it, you can create a drum beat in less time than it takes you all to play it live, if you're having to record several times because you keep messing up. In Grid Edit, there is no messing up if you know where to put everything.

That's exactly what it's like, and the only way I feel comfortable creating drum sequences.

What the point of having an mpc if your not going to program the beat with the pads. Fruity Loops is 100 dollars an mpc is 2000 bucks, thats one expensive grid editor.

I have good timing so I havent even used the grid editor yet, if you look closely at that picture you can see all my notes are on point.

It may be becuase of the time correct but when youre looking at the grid edit, it kind of gives you a visual of your beat, I looked at it yesterday and when I was starin at it I realized I needed another note in a certain place and I did it with the grid editor.

Fruity Loops sounds fruity. Just my opinion. Besides, I use my MPC as a main sequencer that controls my Triton and rack units. And recording external audio, like my strings, is nearly impossible in Fruity Loops. It's not a good program. It's a cheap alternative for those that can't afford the real stuff.

Also, what do you mean " if you're not gonna program the beat with the pads"? You use the pads in grid edit mode. You just don't have to play it in real time. What difference does it make if you play the pads in real time and I play the pads step by step??? We get the same results, and in the end, the same exact sound.
