I did not know the machine could do more that was originally advertised.
(Hell I did'nt know it had a HD slot)
Then U posted the "THIS IS BANANAS THREAD" and I was like damn the 1000 can do so much more.
U bet that AKAI knew about what the machine could do beyond the current OS and to not let the consumer know is deceitful.
Sure akai knew about what the machine could do (regarding the hard drive) as with any hardware/software company, always looking ahead. they probably work a way to implement a drive but at that time didn't finish writing the code (in the os) necessary to make it work. or they probably knew they were going to release a different model (2500) when they designed the 1000 and stated they will implement the hard drive feature when they release the new model (2500), who knows?
i don't think that's deceitful. i think that's planning for the future. they never told us when we (for most of us who bought it back then) first bought our 1k's that anything more would come so they didn't deceive us in any way.
i agree 100%, that akai should have given a definitive date as to the release. and not just say, check the website. and i think
that is because the people that were asked didn't know or couldn't tell. either way, we are not getting ripped off because we are not and have not paid for this OS so if akai decided to just say forget it and cancel the release of OS2.0 we are still not getting ripped off.
pantherpride wrote:So for the consumer, who is waiting for this OS that only TRUE contact with what is going is with a forum where other consumers are not allowed to talk about the flaws in customer service, I just don't think that is right.
The MPC series is industry standard.
I have been doing beats and seqences on the MPC series since 1994 and I don;t understand why things are the way they are.

that's cool, i've addressed this on many different occassions,
i am not employed by akai but as many times that i have addressed and stated such, there have been many more who thiink i do work for them. so i'll just say this, one last time: I DO NOT WORK FOR AKAI BUT IF YOU (ANYONE) WANT TO THINK THAT THEN FINE, GO AHEAD AND THINK IT. no one knows me from adam. and that's cool.

believe me, i've told akai about people's frustrations here on the boards. i've told them repeatedly and asked if they can address it with more than a boiler plate, cut & paste response.
