Before you paint - make a stencil for the button labels or get a clear tape label maker.


yellow and black would be real slick

if you paint it those colors - be sure to paint the purple buttons

or you might look like a lakers fan.

thanks for reminding me, I got the whole setup to print the labels back on now for the 2000XL, I'm going to have one made for the 1k later. I'll drop the Info later.

Yeah, just like how black re-issue MPC3000's sell for about 1000 USD more than the former beige model even though they are the same machine.

I didnt know how to paint things properly obviously on my first couple attempts.

im going to print out a actual size view of the 1k face and make a stencil from that by cutting out the lettering with an exacto knife

then just lay it over top of the 1k and spray the lettering on

thier on there with clear tape labels as of right now. (easily removable)

im not going to bother with the clear coat - I dont think I will need to

ill make that decision when I get around to doing this

im happy with my paint job as of right now tho

I can get some made for about $36.00 (transfer screen) and they are Professional. lettering and all.

it's all good, i wasn't having a go mate, just saying how i'd do it, being a car sprayer for a living! i think yours looks fine, and personally, i wouldn't want mine shiny, so i'd go for the satin lacquer. i would however recommend using laquer, unless your colour coat is made to be a topcoat, because otherwise it will rub off, and the lacquer will seal it, and allow you to wash your mpc, should you want to! tho not with it still plugged in kids!





ps: disclaimer: don't wash your mpc it's baaaaaaad.

you can use a permanent black marker,yellow,blue,pink etc to color the buttons, worked jus fine,kinda smells tho.
