humming coming out of monitors???

i have humming or buzzing coming out of my monitors. i have a monster power outlet that has clean power, but i notice when i connect my computer screen my monitors start making noise. what could be the problem for this and is there anything that i can do. the way i have everthing connectd is i have the two monitors, my dj mixer, computer and the screen going into the power outlet and i have the monitors connected to the mixer with XLR's. thanks...

I had the same problem. pissed me off becuase I personally built my studio by hand from the floor up and paid special attention to wireing even installed a seperate breaker. Still got the annoying buzz. In the end this is what solved the problem.

It's a phase shifter, BTW, for those who don't know.

Actually ground loop noise. Called 60Hz (cycle) hum or 30Hz deepending.

Are your monitors close to your computer screen? Try moving them away, maybe you're getting some sort of interference from your screen, if the hum only starts when you connect it.

you know what i have the same problem....but i have a laptop. and whenever i have it turned on my monitors would hum with a high pitch....shit's annoying! This is a good post btw

i just bought the art clean box so i let u know if that works which i think it would. i dont have them by the screen. as of right now im using my laptop cuz it dose not make no noise when i use it. but for sure i will let u guys know if it works.peace

Don't know if this could be it but a common mistake is running audio and power cables parallel to each other. If you have audio and power cables near each other, crossing each other, etc, make sure they intersect at 90 degree angles (perpendicular). In other words, if they must be near each other, they should run like this +, not this =. That minimizes interference.

yeah i did that already i try different ways b4 i came and asked here i got the monster clean power and it did not stop and even put my Mac on another outlet and same so ill just be waiting for the ART clean box to come in.

Unless you have shielded speakers no amount of gadgets will catch your hum...If they are shielded however, you have a good chance of fixing the problem. Nearby dimmer switches can often be the source of such problems as well as certian light sources. Go through your building and try turning off various light switches and see what happens....the suggestions concerning cable routing are also good... try turning off different pieces of gear - if you find the culprit, try a ground lifter....if all else fails, move to arizona....it may not fix your problem but I hear it's pretty

there always has to be a clown in here but on a real tip i did hear thats its pretty i give my cousin a call and ask him if his gear be humming out there...
