using song mode and midi on mpc1000

just a quick question, i have my mpc and fantom x6 hooked up through midi and i was wondering is it possible to use song mode to sequence the drum sequences whlie playing a keyboard riff? when i try to do this, it just keeps repeating the first drum sequence i have behind the keyboard riff, even if i turn local off and on?

i could be wrong but you don't compose in song mode. you compose from the main screen. if you want to have your seqs play longer or have multiple seqs you want to play your fantom over, arrange the multiple seqs in song mode then convert back to one big seq then you can play your fantom over that sequence. or you can copy the one seq multiple times into itself via seq edit

or u can turn off loop in main menu and u can play for as long as u want as long as whatever got playn is copied repeadately to more bars play with the copy and move options. play with the idea some on ur mpc ull see what i mean
