A great build

Man this thing has great build to it. I was messing with the 2500 @ Sam Ash a couple of days ago, and like it even more after messin w/ it. The dial seems alot less toyssh compared to the 1k, and the sliders feel really nice and sturdy. And the bigger pads are nice also. I thought I would post this thought up. So it looks like i'll be saving some dough to pick this up sometime in the future.

What took you so long?

I mean I know its dope and all, but hadn't had a chance to mess with one yet. The Sam Ash by me just got one in this past week.

I'd still cop the 1000 over the 2500. The only thing that suprises me is the color. I can rock harder on an MPC 2000. Not worth the $2000.

american musical supply and they'll let u do the 3 or 5 payment plan if u need to

I had to get them to do a price match with alto music which only took a day

I agree about the build of this machine, its so easy for me to sit down in front of it and work. I can rest my hands on the little curve on the front and comfortably play the pads.

I had the 2000 before this and I didn't like it so I sold it, the screen was incredibly small on the 2000, I also had the 1000 for a while but like you said it felt toyish and actually looked pretty toyish too. The screen was also mad homo for being so hard to read.

The 2500 is the shyt, I wouldnt trade it for nothin, well, maybe the 4000 but thats about it, Id even have to think about that.

Another positive here for the build quality.

My only complaint would be the data wheel. It's action is fine I just wish it was a nice piece of turned aluminium or even better, stainless, rather than plastic which look really plasticy and rather cheap. Otherwise, yeah, everything else feels very substantial and built to last.

I paid about 1600 or a little more because I got a packaged deal. But I dont know If I agree with you on that one Mind Reader. The updates will in the very, very near future will seperate the two and then it will be an issue of which one you can afford not which is better. By far the 2500 have what it takes but the new O.S update for the 1000 makes it even now.
Common sense will tell you that you cant have it as so because the 2500 is supposed to have more features than the 1000 and the company will lose sales if the only extra features is a extra Q-Link and a DVD rom drive. In my opinion that isnt enough . Durability? 2500 all the way. The near future will tell.

It looks like about 2 weeks before I can order my 2500. OOh yea

Disagree

Even with the new OS and nearly identical OS....the 1000 is far from even. Only the few/many that purchased the MPC 1000 (mostly due to it cheap/reasonable price) will ever make that claim. Save $600 by buying an MPC 1000?? The hardware features/functions are worth every penny and there is more to come

This machine is awesome as is. But I see alot of possibilities with it in the future.
