I am trying to get my MPC to change sound banks on my external modules without having to physically change the modules myself. I have everything midi'd up right. I'm able to run through sounds 1-127 perfectly fine on the modules which are controlled by the mpc. It's when I want to change sound banks ,which is about 4 in all on my emu modules, that I am unable to figure out how to do so within the mpc. I think it's something to do with the msb...I have an MPC2000xl...please help.

The reason I'm trying to figure this out is because I want to save a beat on the MPC and have everything recalled exactly the way I left it when I load the beat back up....not have to write down everything and then dial it in. Thanks

SYS EX (System Exclusive Messages) is probably what you want.
Something similar would probably be MIDI switch info pg. 185 for the 2000XL.

Ok I kind of figured it out. On the main screen I press the "step' tab and insert 2 control changes. One for "bank select msb" and one for "bank select lsb". I set the lsb to number 1 for sound bank 1 or 2 for soundbank 2 on my modules. I then press the play tab. Success! When surfing through the sounds the banks on my module switch over to the next sound bank. But now a new problem surfaces. How do I save all these sounds so that they will all be recalled when I load the beat back up. as of right now they aren't loading to the exact sound and bank on my modules.
