it'll only read half of that - unless it's from akai. i don't know the technicals. if you didnt order it online, take it back and get the 256 to max out your machine.

so a PNY 128mb pc133 144 pin sodimm wont work at all it wont give me 128 what would it give me then

well for the most part thats a good question, however you do what you can.

as far as the ram cards those little black cells on the card are like little flash cards that hold information and the size/ number of them on the card makes all the difference.

When some folks were trying to fit the 128 MB ram in their mpc's, it wouldn't recognize the stick or it won't boot up properly.
