Same thing happened to me. The new OS installs all new programs in your RAM (like all the factory ones that came with your new 1K). When you tell the slicer to create a new program - it doesn't 'cause all your space is filled up. Erase some of the example PGMS and you'll see.

Am I right here, Sparq? 'Cause I did the same thing aflo did and there was no sound. Then I just dialed up a PGM and erased over it and all was fine.

your right. you have to turn off autoload again and basically do the same thing you did when you first got it.

I have a strange problem, i loaded up the impeach drumbreak and chopped it up to 10 diffrent slices, then i converted and made a new program.
Now i set the metronome thing to 1/8 50% and then record the hihats, change track and gonna record the kick and snare, i bang out to the hihats awile until i like it and then record it, now to the problem........the sounds like cuts all the bass? and when i then play it therse almost no sound at all...
I have format my CF yesterday and changed to 0db

But if i load up one for the nym drumkits it works great.

Hope u understand : )

Could you be a lil more specific, what's printed while you try to install?
Are you sure the file you try to install isn't corrupted? Are you sure you only have one os on your cf card when installing?

If you had the same problem as me, just back up your files to a computer.

Next turn off your MPC

Hold downt he ERASE Button+ turn it on.

Then factory presents will be reset

Now go to load>high lite memory card/hardrive

Press Window, turn autoload off

Then go to UTILITI TAB (DEVICE-Harddrive) then format,

dump everything back and an play with it like before.

i fixed the prblem for me so lets see if it was only me and no one else

The screen goes blank for a few seconds, but you haven't turned off your mpc at this stage have you?
You have to wait untill everything is loaded.
If you weren't in such a hurry, it's really weird.

Guys, Master Volume has always been -12db since the first OS.

It helps prevent overloads.

This thingy about adjusting it is irellevant to your pgm volume thang/issue.

Wow...I really don't know what to say. The most sought after OS in Akai's history has finally been released......

Good guess on my part that the OS wouldn't be 2.0 but 2.X or something :D There were too may features added for this OS to be flawless.

I told Akai to let real MPC users beta test...Akai..make it happen. You don't even have to pay me :D

By adl1 Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:33 pm
i held down the erase button while starting up and everything worked just fine
and yes my screen turned blank for like 2 - 5 minutes :s

thank you people

very very much :D
