what the hell does it mean insufficient

memory?This hasnt hapened to me since i got this new OS.Well i tried to chop a sample into 8 and it popped up insufficient memory.Wtf is that?

you dont have enough sample time i have that problem all the time plus that o.s. is HOTTT

word no doubt.Is there any way i can delete just one of the original kits that the new OS came with to free up some memory.

The kits will only take up memory if they're actually loaded onto your mpc, in which case, just select the kit in the program menu and window-delete it. If you've only got 1 program loaded, go through your pads and unassign the samples your not going to use in that song from their pads, then click purge to get them out of memory. That is if you're making a distinction between RAM and the compact flash memory, the insufficient memory is relating the the RAM and not the memory card, deleting things off that won't help.


I'm guessing (as I havn't used it yet) the sample chop function needs to keep a temporary copy of the orignal sample whilst it's working on chopping the new one, so if you have 512k left and are chopping a 1 meg sample, you'll run out of memory because you'll need that extra 512k to store the chopped copy

even when you chop a sample the mpc does not erase the original, it creates separate sliced samples of the original and names them using the original sample name and adds a number at the end (depending on how many slices you chose)
