I did a test yesterday and the glitch didn't appear when i applied the instructions. It was a 'normal' short loop.
Are you sure you're not just getting a 0.01 sec loop? With the old glitch you'd get a crunchy quality to the sample. Now it just goes: BRRRRRRRR

How does it go again? The .01 sec loop sound?

sparq, what format does the mpc put the hard drive in? FAT16/32?

here's an update....

i ended up swapping my laptop hard drive in and received the same error message. DAMN

since my laptop doesnt have a floppy, i dl'ed a win98 cd, booted to the cd-rom and deleted the partition (from my laptop HD) which had an ntfs volume on it. stuck the hard drive back in the mpc and it formatted just fine. i'm willing to bet my 80 gig HD that i bought "new" from Fry's had NTFS on it. bastards!

i'm guessing the MPC doesnt like NTFS volumes? i've read past posts and some have taken HD's from old laptops so I'm guessing they had FAT on there.

after updating the os some of my beats sound muffled and distorted. im pretty sure it's cause of the resettingsduring updating. anyone know what it could be?

sparq any idea as to why the os change is effecting some people's beats? it did to a couple of mine...fixing them isn't hard and is not worth complaining about, but i'm curious to know why that happened?
