Antonym wrote:sparq any idea as to why the os change is effecting some people's beats? it did to a couple of mine...fixing them isn't hard and is not worth complaining about, but i'm curious to know why that happened?

Here is my (updated) guess. i just reloade os1.07, and the volume seems to have more dynamic in the new os ( = bigger sonic difference beetween 0 and 100 in os 2.10).

And i think it is a good think.

so i think that strong volume pads (over 80) have more volume in the new os, and need to be lowered a bit. (and very low volume pads needs to be turned up a bit maybe).

----
ENVELOPE
on 2.10 though i got strange results with the amp enveloppe. with a bass drum (a BD and a sub layered), if i turn the attack a bit up (around 10 maybe) an lower the decay a bit (around 60 maybe), i get first a normal slow attack sound and then in the middle of the sound there is a bit with a very short attack.
in other words it does woooTAK.

anybody noticed that ?

-----
FOOTSWITCH
and now footswitch to note repeat works! sweet! i might get a second footswitch.

Hi Truvc,am having the same problem with all my beats i made on 1.7 OS.The 2.10 just fliped all the levels like a pancake.i mean do i stay 1.7 for my old beats n mess around with the 2.10 just the new features only???

I was just playing around with the lfos, this shit is real crazy.
i used a four bar loop, nothing special, and layed some drums down - this lfo stuff can alter the sound of the sample in thounds ways....this is awesome!

Amp envelope problem with os 2.1

I noticed that when i use a high decay on a sample ( a long piano sample ), at the end of this sample i hear another one (a vocal hit) instead of having the sound fading out normally .
In another song i started today every samples with a high decay setting have clicks at the end .

up to you. at some point i will reajust the levels that have changed, and then enjoy os2.10. :P
at the moment i'll stick with 1.07 for a little while.

anyone hit a big with move sample yet? ie, you move your sample and all other notes recorded on all other tracks mysteriusly vanish after the note you moved?

the features list says the new os offers mixer automation, i tried looking it up but didnt really understand what it does. will it control the faders on a mixer with motorized faders and stuff?

thanks alot

I tried to reproduce what you did with the AMP enveloppe.
attack=70
Decay=100
Dcy md=END
Now when i hit my kick , i get a silence followed by my kick and snare.
Kick is on Pad13 , snare is Pad11.

I've also encountered a bug with the OS2 .
I went into step-edit mode , scrolled to a note ,then used the move function and my mpc crashed with this notice.

CPU Adress error (read)
----------------------------------------
PC(00000631) SR(40001160) TEA(00000631)
----------stack dump (sp=884fff2c) -----

883dca88 2ee572c4 0000000d 881c4174

I had one looped bassline going with a melody played using the 16 levels pitch function.
A breakbeat track with just the kick and snare playing a Drumkit.
And a track playing just 4 notes driving a cymbal.
The cymbal track was the one where i encountered the bug.

Greetz...

in the mixer q-link 1 control the pan of the selected track, q-link 2 control the volume .
you can record those moves if you choose "record mix changes : yes" in the mixer setup page

HEY PEOPLE WELL I HAD THE LEVELS PROBLEM SO I WAS CONSTANTLY SWITCHING BETWEEN OS 2.10 AND 1.07.

WELL HERE IS A SIMPLE SOLUTION,JUST PUT BOTH OS 2.10 AND 1.07 ON YOUR COMPACT FLASH AND WHEN EVER YOU FEEL LIKE 1.07 JUST GO THE THE LOAD FUNCTION AND LOAD IT. THE MPC WILL ASK YOU FOR A RESTART AND THATS IT!!!!!

YEPI!!!!!!

NOTE:

1.PUT OS 2.10 IN THE ROOT OF YOUR CF CARD AND OS1.07 IN A OS FOLDER

2. IF YOUR USING OS 1.70 AND WANT TO SWITCH TO OS 2.10 YOU HAVE TO RESTART AND HOLD THE WINDOW BUTTON <THE OLD FASHION WAY>

3.IF YOUR USING OS 2.10 AND WANT TO SWTICH TO OS 1.07 JUST GO MODE>LOAD>FIND THE OS FOLDER AND LOAD THE OS 1.07>RESTART!

 MY MP IS ALIVEEEEEEEE!lol

Something I found that might be wrong but not sure if it is on one of these pages but it seems that when you hit the stop buttom twice to stop a long sample it will resets my fantom XR rack back which is apain if I didn' tsave it LOL that my two cents
