slicing a sample

what is the easiest way to chop a sample into 16 peices and assign them to pads using the mpc 1000. ive been on this site and seen people saying they chop up a sample in 16 peices and assighn it to the pads so they can play it in any order on their keyboard. How do u do this ? . also what does transpose do and how do u use it . thanks guys.

no.... my bad, not you pad. i was asking pimpdawg. because he wants to know the easiest way to chop and with 2.1, that's one of the highlighted features of the new os and it's in the manual and using it, there is no "easiest" way, there is only one way to chop using the slice feature.
