In order to convert samples from MPC2000xl formatted zip disks, into a readable format for the MPC2500, you will need a computer with a zip drive (or whatever other drive you have connected to a SCSI card on the computer). Since windows can’t read the MPC2000xl format, you will also need a conversion program to be able to read the zip disk. Translator Pro by the company Chicken Systems is one of these programs that will allow you to read the zip and copy the contents to your computer hard drive. Here is a link to their website
http://www.chickensys.com/ . Once you have the 2000xl sounds saved to your hard drive, connect your MPC2500 via USB to your computer. Press mode and load. Then press the F button under “USB” on the screen. This will put the MPC2500 into USB mode. Your CF card will then show up on your computer as a removable drive. Simply drag and drop the 2000xl information from your computer hard drive to the removable drive (your CF card) and it will copy itself there.
