Petition for new S900, 950 thread.

What are the odds that the moderators will provide a new thread / forum for S900/950 users?

Anybody willing to support this? I find that I have many questions regarding this equipment and have also noticed that there are an abundance of users on these pages.

that would be something. I kinda like it how it is now. Keep the 950 mysterious so dudes can figure it out for themselves, and those who lack the wit or initiative will give up and go away. I ain't gettin up off none of the tricks and tips Ive learned.

true, the s950 is one of the more ambiguous pieces of equipment available to beatmakers and music producers, but I still think it would be a great idea.

Also, the mpc60 and 3000 are of equal mystification and have provided a number of discussions to a great community on these forums.

True, I didn't look at it from that angle. Plus I owe and give many thanks to those who took time to get me up to speed when I first got my 3k. Not to mention all the stuff I used to read and learn in the 60/3k forum. I think a 900/950 forum would be good b/c we ain't the only one's with one. Seems like a lot of the 1k, 2k, and 4k heads got some too.

My fear is that it'll turn into a DJ Scratch Academy type thing where dude's aren't experimenting and being frustrated with not being able to operate their gear. The frustration and bewilderment is good because when you finally figure it out your really enjoy it and appreciate the gear for what it is and what it put you through. Plus it helps you evlove from emulating your favorite beatmaker and you develop your own style. But if you got all the answers in your face, how you gonna grow?

As far as my secrets, they ain't much at all, you probably know more than I do. I been working on cracking this mysterious 1200 lately.

There is one, it's called OFF-TOPIC forum.

These is also the Akai Pro Samplers List which has been around for over 10 years, has staff from Akai Pro and has most every sampler related comany present.

I still believe that the infamous "sp1200, doubling your sample time" trick is a hoax. I strongly adhere to that! I have known nearly 3 people that attempted to prove that it is a fully functional thing and they failed to prove themselves. Regardless of the procedure, I want to see proof, or evidence, displaying the remaining (or total capacity) sample time, and see the sp1200 in action with all 20 seconds of its expanded sample time.

Give me an internet video - heck, those XBOX 360 kids have theirs.

I'm just trying to get comfy with it like I do with my 60. I need to practice with it and learn it a little better, but 1st I gotta get another o.s floppy. Rohan: I'm not trying to start a fire here, but that is probably your most inane response yet.

The fact that the "OFF-TOPIC" forum clearly states that its focus of discussion has no sincere relevance to its title (it's off topic), shows that the S900/950 are indeed very worthy of their own forum title. What makes the mpc3000/60 so special? Why exclude these counterparts? You know, the s900/950 have feelings too, and they are equally as popular!

I'll see what I can do. A dude I work with has a dusty SP12 he ain't used in yeeaarrssss....

I haven't seen Low Pass Filter in a minute, he used to always be slangin gear around. You should pm him.

......maybe a few years ago, but today...there are very few threads/posts in the 3000 forum that haven't been talked about to death...

I don't think it's a very stupid answer from Rohan actually. Think of it. It's an mpc forum. So I would think it's normal to have different sections for every mpc and a couple of things (not gear) like studio etc. besides it. But if you'd want different sections for every important piece of gear, I think you need about a couple of hundred more sections on the forum

this is true, plus someone would want an asr one etc.

the best thing would be to join the yahoo group, or the other group mentioned.

or just post it here if the mods don't mind
