Common sense will tell you that you cant have it as so because the 2500 is supposed to have more features than the 1000 and the company will lose sales if the only extra features is a extra Q-Link and a DVD rom drive. Even with the new OS and nearly identical OS....the 1000 is far from even. Only the few/many that purchased the MPC 1000 (mostly due to it cheap/reasonable price) will ever make that claim. Save $600 by buying an MPC 1000?? The hardware features/functions are worth every penny and there is more to come

Your right about that. I have both and I guess Im a little greedy but I want my O.S. in my 2500 to be more superior than that of a 1000 because thats how I invision it. I mean should it not be that way? Shouldnt it be more than just an hardware thing? Still your right but so am I.

I see where you as well as several others are going with this..much respect. However, I didn't choose the MPC 2500 because I thought it was more advanced than an MPC 1000. I bought it as a replacement for my 2000XL and 3000. The MPC 1000 was never on my radar. I am happy that MPC 1000 users finally have something to celebrate..even though their forum is now filled with threads/questions that were answered months ago in this forum I bought the 2500 for what it was advertised to do and nothing more. I just want the few issues that it has to be fixed. If the 1000 has the same feature set as the 2500, I am cool with that. It doesn't take money out of my pocket or put food on my plate. The time will come where Akai will add one or more features to the 2500 that the 1000 will not have. But...since they both run a very similar OS...I won't be mad at them for further beefing up the 1000. The big dawgs will still get their 2500 and stick it in the suit case while the 1000 will be a carry on item to make some tracks on the plane...............

Better yet...Akai..why don't you make a version of the MPC 4000 (full fledge sampler and all) in the same size as the 1000 Now that would be impressive!

better yet--let MPC users agree on exactly what they want in a future MPC 10K--THEN MAKE IT-and like jahrome said---let test the alpha, and beta OS before they release it.

I was thinking about it,to get the 2500, but i was trying to think of the benefits of keeping both.

I fooled with it a few times, I like it alot, but I was envisioning somethin more simple like a mpc 1000 with a vga screen.

yeah if it was as simple as the mpc that would tight, i liked what i played with 2 but it was a little complicated
